As of mid 2017, New York reigned as one of America’s five best states for solar power, according to SolarPowerRocks. The credit goes to good state policy encouraging clean energy, including generous incentives for solar for homes and businesses. Uniquely smart solar policy has helped the Empire State outshine many sunnier states when it comes to solar.
To tap into rapid growth in central New York and the Adirondack region, Downstream Construction needed a website to help reach new customers for both solar and construction services, which they asked the Curren Group to build.
- To help generate traffic from web searches, the Curren Group’s tech team created a clean, contemporary visual design that appealed to the company’s target customers organized in a site architecture that was easy to use.
- The site focused on the company’s people, a young, energetic team who show clear pride in their work both in construction and solar. To highlight the company’s people as an advantage over competitors, the new website featured a section with thumbnail photos of team members on the homepage, linked to profiles with engaging photos and friendly, welcoming text profiles of each person.
- Then, after interviews with Downstream management and original research on the company’s market, Curren Group writers developed text to express the company’s competitive difference in a compelling way for homeowners and businesspeople.
- To offer a better visitor experience and satisfy Google’s new emphasis on security, the site launched with a secure-socket layer (SSL) certificate. As a result, instead of the usual “http,” the site’s URL displays “https,” earning the coveted “Secure” notice on Google Chrome to assure visitors that the site is real and safe to use, while helping improve performance in Google searches.
Built in WordPress, the world’s most popular system for new websites, the new site has set the company up to begin an inbound marketing program to generate more traffic and convert more of its visitors to high quality, exclusive sales leads.
